Barbican “A SOUND MIND” PIT LAB
Music for the Mind
2013 begins with an invite to research & develop “Of The Things We Do Not See” at The Barbican’s Pit Theatre in London . We are very happy with the outcome resulting in the development of a new piece to be shown at The Print Room. We are also to be included in this years season at The Grange Park Opera in Southampton.
Our questioning & development of “A Sound Mind” will be a strong focus for us this year with carrying out a double blind clinical test with a neuroscientist to measure the impact of these compositions on stress related illness.
So as the great hunt for a Neuroscientist continues, I don my white suit & lead my workshop on singing from the heart, practicing song cycles, interval balancing song, String drones & some very beautiful ascending normal scale singing with Clemmie Franks, Tara Franks & Elena. Please see below a rough sketch of the beginnings of our Drone cycle.

The beautiful mind
of Theadore Zeldin introduces us to open our questioning of how we as artists can effect social change .To consider this moment in history as the end of the individual.
“We do not teach anyone anything all we can do is stimulate.”
A truly inspiring introduction by Theadore Zeldin for our next two weeks of questioning, challenging & preparation for our intellectual & creative evolution.
